Cocktails & Coral Talk is a monthly speaker series presented by High Tide Aquatics, engaging groundbreaking marine biologists, aquarists, and hobbyists in casual conversation with the community. Speakers will cover topics from animal husbandry to biological chemistry and everything in between in a local, intimate setting. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet, ask questions, and learn directly from the experts.
All ages are welcome (must be 21+ to consume alcoholic beverages). Complimentary drinks and snacks will be provided. Donations are accepted and go toward event costs. Limited seating available.

ABOUT CHAD CLAYTON: Chad got into the marine aquarium hobby when he was 14 and quickly realized he wanted to pursue a career in the aquatics profession. Four years later, he moved to Florida to start his journey at Florida Institute of Technology. In 1997, after graduating with a degree in Marine Biology and another in Aquaculture, Chad couldn’t wait to start his career. He has worked in a few different sectors of aquaculture since then and has successfully bred over 40 species of marine fish and invertebrates. Chad's professional background includes molecular biology research with the zebra fish, Dania rerio at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, commercial marine ornamental aquaculture at Oceans, Reefs & Aquariums in Ft. Pierce, FL, and food fish aquaculture at the former Kona Blue Water Farms in Kona, HI. This experience and education has led him to his current position at Reed Mariculture where, after 13 years, he is working primarily with copepods. Aquaculture has, and always will be, a big part of Chad's life. He currently lives in Santa Cruz, CA on the lovely Monterey Bay with his wife and two young children.
